RAD TEAM call out (Resistance actions, Alternatives and Demands)
For the 2011 RebELLEs Gathering
Dear young feminists,
Dear participants of the 2011 gathering, « Notre révolution féministe, Our Revolution is Now! »,
The Organizing Committee of the gathering is in search of 1 young feminist from each province and territory to be part of the Resistance actions, Alternatives and Demands Team (RAD Team) during the 2011 RebELLEs Gathering. The RAD Team will work through the whole weekend to compile, synthesize and write up the alternatives, resistance actions and demands that will have come from the participants, into a document that will serve as our political platform for the RebELLEs Movement for the next three years!
Therefore, the mandate for the RAD Team is to create a document that is representative of the discussions and proposals of participants, and to bring this back to paricipants in Monday's large group session. Based on the document presented by the RAD Team, and feedback from all participants, we will collectively adopt the Resistance actions, Alternatives and Demands of the RebELLEs Movement, on Monday May 23rd to close the gathering.
The 1st RebELLEs Gathering that took place in Montréal in 2008 gave the RebELLEs Movement the space to create and adopt our Manifesto, the political basis of unity for our Movement. In Winnipeg in 2011, during the 2nd gathering, the adoption of the Resistance actions, Alternatives and Demands will lay the foundation for our Pancanadian Movement to become a political actor on the national scene. At the 2nd gathering we will be discussing, drafting our demands, identifying priorities for campaigns and strategizing to take action at the local, provincial and national levels for the next 3 years! The RAD Team work will be instrumental in making this happen!
Don’t stress! It is a collective process that will build on the brilliant and creative ideas of all gathering participants. The RAD Team will also be working with 2 experienced facilitators and an interpreter.
